Nominee's story :

Cedar House Nursery has been fantastic and I am constantly praising the staff there to anyone who will listen! My boys have been attending the nursery for the past 3.5 years. In this time I have seen just how dedicated the staff are, and how they take the time to get to know your child and help them develop in a loving but boundaried environment. The staff clearly love their jobs and always go the extra mile. The team has a strong leadership, including Jan Vince who deserves special mention. This nursery managed to stay open throughout the whole pandemic, allowing us parents to continue in our jobs at a time of great need for the NHS. The staff all worked together to think flexibly about how they could provide a safe space for the children and staff alike to keep the nursery open for core hours. This provided security and reassurance to parents and children alike in these difficult last 14 months. From the time my eldest child joined nursery aged 10 months, to him preparing to start school in September, I have felt I can trust the nursery fully with the care of both my children. The staff are like an extended family to my boys, they talk about them fondly and I can see why. The love and kindness, professionalism, energy and thought that goes behind the care and development provided for the children is second-to-none. The lines of communication with parents is fantastic and hugely reassuring as we juggle work and parenthood. I honestly think this nursery is one of the best parts of my job! I cannot praise them enough and am so grateful they are based near me so it was a convenient option to me. They deserve recognition for the on-going fabulous work they do. Well done Cedar House nursery staff! And thank you.
