Nominee's story :

Wendy is an administrator for practice development she has worked closely with the practice development lead to coordinate and organise training for many specialities and ensure appropriate rooms are booked, also booking people onto appropriate courses, email confirmations and reminders to name but a few of her roles. In the last few years the practice development team have expanded, there are multiple practice educators been put into post which has added to Wendys workload as she organises training, ensures everyone knows where they are meant to be sending emails in a timely fashion, including welcoming the Indian nurse recruits, booking transport to and from the airport, ensuring they have accommodation and also booking their OSCE exams, travel and accommodation. Wendy did this all in her stride, excited by the prospect of expanding the team and providing a better service. She strives to complete the detail and ensure things run smoothly, and she does everything with a smile and a bright coloured outfit to match. She is always looking at ways to improve and move towards a more paperless service, and move systems electronic. The last year Wendy has shown exceptional work ethic and especially shown how integral she is to the team - due to the pandemic her manager was redeployed onto ICU and Wendy has single handily continued to run the service without any set backs or trouble. She has supported everyone in the team, and is always happy to sort out a problem. She has always been a been a great support for nurses in the office showing kindness, empathy and thoughtfulness providing support, a cup of tea or an ear at any time but especially through difficult experiences lived in during the pandemic, both personal and at work, While going through family loss herself. Wendy always thinks about others, always ensuring birthday cards are signed on time for peoples birthdays and special occasions in an ever expanding team and arranging collections.
