Nominee's story :
Millie's apprenticeship was extended due to the pandemic. Despite this she has managed to pass her NVQ Level 3 with distinction.
She was asked to help out in other administration roles within the Trust during the pandemic including patient facing roles which she does not normally do. She accepted these roles with her usual enthusiasm and I received good feedback for the areas she went to about her good work ethic and general good nature.
As part of her assignment Millie had to design and present a project. Working with one of the Sisters in theatre Millie decided on a project that would take away the need for the paper theatre registers and have that information transferred to our existing theatre management system. In doing this she worked with outside agencies, the consultant surgeons, anesthetists and the whole nursing team to ensure that everything that was required was achieved. This included dealing with criticism which she handled professionally. This system is about to go live and will be a huge improvement for our department.
Despite changes to work areas and hours she has performed at the top of her game and is a true assett.
