Nominee's story :
The communications team at London North West University Healthcare Trust have done exemplary work keeping all parts of the Trust updated especially during this Covid-19 pandemic. The daily bulletins, updates, guidance links provided by the team was exceptional and staff working in such difficult times would find it very difficult and impossible to keep up to date with the various changes occurring almost on a daily basis, new government guidance, news reports as well as local Trust rules and regulations and proposed changes. Without their dedication and commitment beyond the call of duty we could not have managed. What was even more impressive is that they still managed to do the day to day communication activities and supporting staff to move forward essential projects. For example, the team has helped my team to ensure funding is secure and we have started developing a much needed website for people with Thalassaemia and sickle cell, a marginalised, minority ethnic group of patients that often get forgotten whilst many health providers are focused on the more popular health conditions. The communications team are instrumental in many of the projects and activities we have done over the years and they make efforts to assist in difficult situations. Although we say thank you it is not enough I believe they are very much unsung heroes and deserve to be recognised and awarded.
