Nominators Answer
Nominee's story :
Emma has worked in the Estates and Facilities department for a number of years, most recently in the safety services section. She moved into the emergency planning role a short while before the coronavirus pandemic struck. Throughout the pandemic she has worked tirelessly to support both the planning functions and the wider Trust response. She always volunteers to go the extra mile in making sure tasks are done and is always a willing volunteer when further work is needed. Throughout the pandemic has frequently worked extended days and weekends to ensure the Trust was able to comply with the need to cover information lines from the centre, disseminating information and coordinating the Trust emergency responses. Nothing is too much trouble for Emma and she will help anyone at any time. Feedback from colleagues across the Trust comment on her ‘can-do’ attitude and the friendly and efficient way she has responded to everything that she has done. Colleagues regularly comment on how much of a nice person she is, who it is a pleasure to be associated with.
Some of her key achievements over the past year include:
• Being instrumental in setting up the initial Silver command structure and helping Silver commanders have the right briefing and knowledge to effectively lead
• Setting up and participated in out of hours contact rotas.
• Helping many colleagues to amend Business Continuity Plans for Covid-19
• Maintained and coordinated our Trust focus on BREXIT issues throughout these extremely busy periods
• Happily undertook any role requested to ensure the Trust acted appropriately throughout the pandemic
• Kept me advised (along with others) on how we should approach some of the key challenges
• Volunteered for lots of “hard to do” tasks requested by Silver
She has been a star throughout the pandemic, in a role that often goes unnoticed. Emma has truly been an unsung hero.
