Nominators Answer
Nominee's story :
Janette constantly goes out of her way to help not only the staff but our patients too. She has worked for the gynaecology department on the ward for years and goes by the name 'boss lady'. We could not work without her. She keeps the morale going, keeps us laughing, keeps the doctors in check and makes sure all the patients are happy when she sees us nurses and CSWs rushed off our feet. She is ever so kind, going out of her way to making cups of tea for the patients, answering call bells if everyone is busy, liaising with patients family members and keeping them updated in all manner of ways when the nursing team are unable to. She is a woman of all knowledge, being able to tell you where everything is, what everything is and who to contact if needed! She has been here throughout covid, adapting her role of the ward, witnessing the business around her - assisting with patients and always stepping out and helping without an ask. She is making sure the nursing staff are happy and keeping them up to date with the newest TV shows, our own personal netflix reviewer on the ward. She is constantly coming up with new ideas and helpful innovations for the ward, ordering things before we even think we need them, by the time we have even thought we needed something - Janette has already done it! Leaving us one less stress to worry about. She is a essence of calm and control on the ward, if 'boss lady' is in, we know it is going to be a good day. She does not let anything past her, she has everything in control - what we needed during the last 12months, she has helped things be a little easier upon our mayhem of a shift. We could not work without her! She is our dream ward clerk and more!
