Nominators Answer
Nominee's story :
Emma joined the team as a Patient Care Coordinator in October 2020 and quickly stepped up above and beyond her role to coordinate the set up of the Covid vaccination Primary Care site on behalf of 9 Practices. She has worked long hours, weekends, evenings ensuring patients queries are answered, appointments are booked and clinics are arranged matching the ever changing deliveries. With just days notice, she led the rebooking of thousands of appointments, dedicating her life at the time to ensuring patients were informed and postal deadlines were met. She has been committed to ensuring all this work did not fall direct to Practice teams taking a proactive approach to relieve the individual admin teams of this administrative burden. The resilience Emma has shown despite all the challenges and changes has been phenomenal and her commitment 24/7 has ensured this programme has been a success. She has created an army of volunteers who support the site with marshalling and has ensured they have all been recognised with personalised gifts and 'thank you's'. In amidst all of this, Emma has continued to put everyone else's needs first supporting the running of the network itself, ensuring the network clinicians and practices have had access to additional resources and supported the Clinical Directors with the day to day work, as well as the vaccine site. Emma deserves to be recognised for her contribution and the personal time she has given above and beyond the role she was recruited to undertake. Practices would have been unable to cope without her support in the last few months and we would not have been so successful with our vaccination programme.
