Nominators Answer

Nominee's story :

Wendy has worked incredibly hard during the covid vaccination programme, essentially project managing the operational aspect for our practice, and coordinating when other PCN practices worked on our site. She has ensured that all clinics are staffed by practice staff or additional workforce staff and that the team know what is happening and when. She has worked tirelessly with volunteers, other organisations and charity groups and practice colleagues to provide the experience possible for patients and those working or volunteering. She considers every logistical aspect and ensures that every detail has been thought through. She has organised the Okehampton Lions to provide teas and coffees at clinics, worked with the community transport group to help patients get to clinics, worked with St Johns Ambulance and the Royal Volunteer Service as well as the local community hospital and police station to organise off site parking when required. Although many people have played an integral part in the vaccination programme, Wendy has been truly outstanding in her contribution and commitment, alongside maintaining her usual roles as team leader to both the patient services and housekeeping teams. She is caring and compassionate with both staff and patients and goes above and beyond every single day. I would like to thank her on behalf of all those she has worked with for remaining calm, whilst retaining both her sense of humour and professionalism throughout, despite some very challenging circumstances.
