Nominee's story :

Abi has led the covid vaccination programme for the local Primary Care Network and it has been a huge success. She has worked tirelessly, over so many additional hours to get this programme organised and delivered to an exceptional standard. She has led the team from the front and shown great strength, determination and commitment to getting this right for our patients benefit. She has received some heart-warming compliments and praise for how our surgery has handled this pandemic and the patients are in awe of the work that has been achieved. The profile of the surgery has been raised due to this work and the cakes/gifts have been coming in thick and fast as 'thank you's! Nothing has been too much trouble and Abi has shown so much resilience over the past 18 months. She has been a real trooper! All this on the back of starting to foster a young girl with her partner. Personally she has sacrificed 'family life' for the sake of her patients and has put the needs of her family second to get this virus under control. She must of had a great deal of stresses and worries over the past 18 months both at home and work but she has never once let this show, she has been professional and a great leader. She has motivated me and all the team and we have become better people as a result. We can't thank Abi enough for all she has done for the surgery and for the wider community. Regardless or not of whether she gets nominated to go further with this award she is most definitely our hero! As an add on the little girl she has fostered has done amazingly well and come on in leaps and bounds. Abi has given her the love and care she has needed to flourish and she is a credit to the type of person Abi is. Abi is a true inspiration to me and all those she meets. If I needed anyone in a crisis alongside me I would most definitely choose Abi!
