Nominators Answer

Nominee's story :

Nick Huby started became a volunteer community first responder (CFR) for Yorkshire Ambulance Service in 2016. Staff at the ambulance service always find that Nick demonstrates enthusiasm and really puts the patient at the heart of what he does. Nick also has a full time job and often makes himself available as a responder in addition to his work commitments. He books on after the day shift as well as most evenings and weekends. Nick managed to clock up 1587 hours in 2020, volunteering for Yorkshire Ambulance Service. And if that wasn't enough, he also assisted with falls assistance, where two trained CFRs attend a call when someone has fallen and go to the aid of patient in advance of an ambulance crew arriving, helping vulnerable patients. Nick is just everything a volunteer should be and we would love for Nick to be recognised for his efforts - along with all community first responders for Yorkshire Ambulance Service.
