I am thrilled to nominate Richard for the Unsung Heroes Award for Volunteer of the Year. Richard has demonstrated an exceptional work ethic, consistently going above and beyond his job description as a Volunteer Visitor (Befriender) at Arnold Lodge. His dedication and unwavering commitment to his role have made a profound impact, and his contributions both within and outside our organization have been truly outstanding.
Richard's journey as a volunteer at Arnold Lodge began in 2012 when he became the very first Befriender at our facility. Since then, his work ethic has been nothing short of exemplary. In the past 12 months, he has demonstrated unwavering dedication, making extraordinary efforts to connect with his matched patient. He has been a constant presence in his patient's life, providing not just companionship but also serving as a source of inspiration. His efforts to remind his match of their visits, his thoughtful approach, and his ability to create a sense of anticipation have contributed to a significant transformation in his patient's outlook. Richard's exceptional work ethic, especially in the recent year, has exemplified his unwavering commitment to enhancing the lives of those he serves.
Richard's outstanding achievements extend beyond the confines of our organization. His dedication has left an indelible mark on the patients he has served.
