Nominee's story :
In support of the nomination for the Unsung Heroes Award, I wish to nominate the admin and clerical team within the Occupational Health and Wellbeing Service. In doing so, It is important to describe the unwavering and dynamic support the entire admin team has done as part of the OH service has provided in meeting the needs of our organisation and its people over the past years. In the last year alone the OHWB service supported the effective onboarding of over 6000 new starters whilst continuing to lead the COVID vaccination hubs for our employees and our community. The service took over 4000 referrals for LUHFT from managers looking for advice and support on how to effectively manage and support their employees to either return safely to work or to remain in work. The workload placed upon our small but perfectly formed admin and clerical team has been immense, and despite this they have risen to the challenge and have continued to deliver high quality administration of our service.
The services offered by the team are extensive and the Trust is very much seen as leading the vision for Growing Occupational Health and Wellbeing across Cheshire and Mersey. The scope of the MDT available to support our people includes specialist OH public health Nurses, Therapies (OT and Physio), Psychology and IPC support. The wellbeing agenda has continued to flourish with positive actions and interventions aimed at supporting the self care agenda and workforce resilience. This growing MDT is supported by our amazing admin team and they are a team always looking to drive a quality output and always looking to drive efficiency despite how busy the service is.
The team esprit de corps of the admin team is palpable and the team work together with pride always with our peoples health and wellbeing needs front and centre of all that is done. In turn our workforce are able to effectively support great care and great outcomes.
The admin and clerical service not only provides a comprehensive OH services to our own trust but the provide admin and clerical support to the wider portfolio to over 20 other Trusts and businesses within our region.
The team work tirelessly to ensure our people have a voice, are treated sensitively and supported regardless of their need. We model the make every contact count and we value the importance of supporting effective employment so that an individual experiences true wellbeing in which they have a sense of purpose and in good physical and mental health.
The team have led the move to a paperless delivery of services and this has directly benefited the time to hire within the NHS and they have continued to look at ways of further streamlining of the onboarding of new starters.
I recognise that often the admin and clerical teams are the forgotten heroes, and yet, these are the backbone of our service. I am thankful for this opportunity to shine the spotlight on this tenacious and innovative team of amazing individuals!
