Nominee's story :

It is with great pleasure that I nominate Samantha for her exceptional work ethic and outstanding contributions to our organization. Samantha has consistently gone above and beyond in ensuring that every staff member is recognized and supported, exemplifying a person-centered approach and utilizing her mental health first aid skills to provide non-judgmental support. Samantha has been instrumental in the successful launch of succession planning across Barts Health, playing a key role in embedding our new inclusive career development framework. Her dedication to addressing inequalities within the workforce has had a lasting impact and has helped to create a more equitable and supportive environment for all employees. Samantha's openness about being neurodiverse has not hindered her, but rather, she has used her unique abilities to overcome challenges and barriers. Her authentic leadership skills have been evident in her inclusive approach to both staff and patients, ensuring that everyone feels valued and included. Beyond her professional role, Samantha also dedicates her time to volunteering for her local community as a hate crime ambassador and raising awareness about violence against women and girls. Her expertise in these areas has been invaluable, particularly during these unsettling times, as she has played a crucial role in raising awareness and providing support for reporting hate crimes. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Samantha took on a leadership role in implementing a volunteer mental health peer support service for staff, ensuring that her colleagues had a point of contact to speak to during a challenging time. Her efforts in establishing an on-call rota for this service have made a significant impact on the well-being of our staff and have further demonstrated her commitment to supporting others. In summary, Samantha's exceptional work ethic, dedication to inclusivity, and commitment to supporting others have made a profound impact within our organization.
