Nominee's story :

Digital reliability and accessibility are crucial for every single member of staff who works for the Trust. Dependable digital systems are imperative, ensuring that all staff are able to do their job effectively. It is important to recognize the significance of digital technology in today's world. Unfortunately, it is often overlooked despite its crucial role in various aspects of our daily lives. From communication to commerce, education to patient care, digital technology has transformed the way we interact with both staff and patients. Its essential to understand and embrace the advancements in digital technology to stay relevant and competitive in our fast-paced society, but to never underestimate the importance of keeping the place running. DHT is made up of highly skilled individuals who work tirelessly to ‘keep the lights on’ every day to ensure that patients receive the highest level of care. They support all divisions to ensure that technical solutions are available in order identify and implement innovate solutions that support our clinical and operational teams, allowing them to deliver high standards of care. The team provide expert support, often at short notice to meet the needs of the Trust, whether that is down to the need of a new server, the opening or relocation of a ward, enabling large capital programmes or implementing projects / optimisations of the electronic patient record. The team have strong established relationships across the whole Trust and continually go above and beyond to ensure they adapt their ways of working to enable the best possible outcome for the patient. Throughout the pandemic the team enabled all necessary staff to be able to work from home, to ensure services could continue with minimal impact, embracing new ways of working with advanced use of technology. The demand for digital services continues to increase, a direct reflection of the team’s necessity and value to patient care. DHT is a cohesive team that works well together to achieve common goals, to ensure the best outcomes for patients.Collaborative working across the region has seen DHT at the forefront of innovative ways of working, along with being a standout site for positive lessons learnt of previous deployments. Through supporting the Cheshire and Merseyside Surgical Centre the DHT have worked to implement data sharing processes and functionality that has now been adopted as the blueprint for the region. DHT have worked diligently to implement strong governance processes to ensure that DHT resource is utilised in a way that achieves continual alignment with Trust priorities and attainment of maximum benefits. Gateways will ensure that project feasibility is conducted at the earliest opportunity, ensuring that projects are strategically relevant, will provide clinical and operational benefit and are also cost effective. Along with ensuring the team adhere to the Trust Values and Behaviours, the team have invested considerable effort, with the support of Learning and Development colleagues to hold sessions. The objective of the sessions was to clarify and reset the behavioural expectations with all team members. We all recognise the vital part that teamwork will play in our journey to success and the sessions were designed to support people in recognising the impact behaviour has on others, the benefits of effective team working, the behavioural responsibilities of us all and finally, understanding and appreciating difference.
