Nominators Answer

Nominee's story :

I would like to nominate our team in the Admin Endoscopy Offices at HRI/CRH, we truly are a wonderful team who works so hard to get results and always put the people first. Staff go above and beyond, making sure we are utilising 12+ theatre lists each date to try and ensure 100% utilisation, as you can image this has a huge positive impact on all patients who are waiting for their diagnostic tests. We have some patients who are seen within 12 hours of their referral landing on our waiting list! None of this would be possible without great communication, organisation and working hard as a team. We've had challenging times over the last 12 months with staff absences and this has always been approached with kindness and empathy towards those involved. We find our team are always happy to jump into another role to make sure all core roles are covered to allow the department to continue to run smoothly. We have a wellbeing team who ensure all staff have all the possible ‘wellbeing’ information, webinar calendars and online material available for staff who seek any additional support. Mental health is hugely affected within the NHS and we treat all of our staff with love, support and time to ensure they are on the correct road for help when they are ready. Each week, we ask staff to nominate someone for ‘star of the week’ this could be someone who has gone above and beyond with a patient, supporting a colleague or just a someone who has made someone smile. We feel this really boosts staff and always hope they know how valued they are. Please see some lovely examples Staff member- For being so positive Staff member- always a pleasure to work with Staff member- Helping a gentleman who fell over - Absolute star and a credit to Endoscopy Staff member- brilliant leadership with booking We are a fantastic Endoscopy Unit and are a major cog in the diagnostic service, we always strive to ensure patients are seen and given the best possible service at such a nervous, worrying time. Here are some lovely comments from our Manager - I wanted to reflect on some of the positive things that as an admin team we have contributed/achieved over this last year: New training packages/programme’s set up Welcomed new starters Health and Wellbeing champions Cleared and maintained backlog Lots of process changes that everyone has contributed and brought some cracking ideas to the ta-ble Improvement with patient engagement Reduction to DNA’s/cancellations Reaching out to each other when we see our colleagues are not having a great time Regular admin team meetings Improvement to theatre utilisation New endoscopy website Visit from neighbouring trust due to leading on been one of the best performers regionally This is just some of the positive improvements, however mostly we have grown as a team and this week we need to give each other a massive pat on the back and appreciate that as a team you have contributed to growing the service to be one of the best in the area.
