The Only National Awards For Non-Medical / Non-Clinical NHS Staff & Volunteers

The Unsung Hero Awards 2024: Back and Better Than Ever!

10th January 2024

As we look back on the year that has passed, we can’t help but feel a profound sense of importance and anticipation. This year signifies a significant milestone for the Unsung Hero Awards as we make our highly anticipated return from our hiatus. Our last awards show was held in 2021, and it was truly an unforgettable event. However, due to the challenges posed by the pandemic, we had to put a pause on our celebrations. This break provided us with the opportunity to regroup, refine our mission, and come back stronger than ever for our upcoming awards ceremony scheduled for March 2024.

Gearing Up for an Amazing Awards Ceremony

A tremendous amount of effort has gone into our grand comeback, and in the coming months, as we prepare for what promises to be our most spectacular celebration to date, we are thrilled to unveil what we have in store for the night. So, get ready to be amazed!

Spotlighting the Remarkable Work of NHS Staff

Our goal remains the same – to shine a spotlight on the extraordinary contributions of non-clinical and non-medical NHS staff. This year, we have thoughtfully selected categories that allow us to recognise and celebrate the efforts of NHS workers from a wide range of job sectors. These categories include Corporate Services, Admin & Clerical, Estates & Ancillary, IT & Digital, and Volunteer of the Year. With this selection, we aim to acknowledge the outstanding contributions made by individuals and teams across various areas of the NHS.

An Overwhelming Response

We opened our nominations to all NHS staff in October, following an enchanting pink-themed Halloween launch event at Liverpool Women’s Hospital. The event was filled with spooky treats and encouraged staff to nominate their colleagues who demonstrate exceptional commitment to delivering the very best in their respective fields. The nomination criteria focused on values such as authenticity, trustworthiness, care for the community, innovation, promoting equal importance, gratitude, transparency, fairness, and inclusiveness.

We are thrilled to share that by the time we reached our nominations deadline on Friday, 15th December, we received a significant number of nominations from various NHS bodies. This overwhelming response is a testament to the incredible dedication and impact of the non-clinical and non-medical staff within the NHS.

Gratitude for Your Support

We extend our heartfelt thanks to all who nominated their NHS Unsung Hero, followed us on social media, shared our posts, spread the word among colleagues, and of course, all the members of our mailing list for their unwavering support. We are truly grateful for your ongoing dedication and enthusiasm as we celebrate the remarkable contributions of these unsung heroes within the NHS.
