The Only National Awards For Non-Medical / Non-Clinical NHS Staff & Volunteers

It was the first time we have ever given a joint award for two nominees. Andy Tobin and Ali Jallow, security guards at Stockport NHS Foundation Trust, were put forward for the Unsung Hero Award for saving a patient’s life. They are an amazing example of what non-medical staff can encounter day to day in a hospital environment. Andy and Ali followed the patient, who is a professional kickboxer and prevented them from jumping off a railway bridge in an attempt to end their own life.
